mad busy

whewwwwww. Today has been mad busy. I woke up early and put together about a dozen felt flower pin kits, measuring long strings of color-coordinated embroidery thread, cutting out layers and layers of colorful felt flowers, and picking out embellishments like lace and buttons. Throw it all in a hello kitty ziplock bag, and there’s another flower pin (or barrette) ready to be born.
I also made six new pins last night (Do you ever get a second wind, at, say, 2am? Me too.) and added those to the Princess Lasertron store.
Tonight I’m going to see Cirque du Soleil here in Omaha. Not sure what to expect…except that I know it will be amazing. I’m most excited to see the costumes. To be honest, I’m sort of afraid of clowns, but fascinated by Cirque. This is my first time seeing a Cirque show!

by day, I am a high school speech coach for a forensics team, and I go to competitions all year. one poetry contestant that I judged did a set of poems that were all about clowns. His theme was kind of that even though clowns try to make a living making people happy, they can’t get a date because they aren’t taken seriously!

Actually alot of kids and adults are scared of clowns…the Stephen King book/movie ‘IT’ emphasizes the evil clown. Wonder if there’s a correlation between professional clowns and how they typically interact in life without the costume? Now that would be a fun research topic!
