this week in pictures

This week was very up and down for me…it was packed with meetings, lunches, parties, and work–all filled with positive progress–but my emotional stamina has seriously been in the dumps lately. I think I may be taking on too much work. It’s June!

On Monday we had our first general meeting for the Omaha Girls in Tech chapter. Led by my bff Kt McBratney and supported by the advisory board (Erin Hawkins of BrightMix, Jaci Rebrovich of the AIM Institute, and little ole me), the well-attended meeting was surprisingly productive and I’m looking forward to all of the upcoming events we will be planning together. I think the women of Omaha business have a lot to add to local culture.

A look at some orders I worked on this week…I usually take pictures of my projects on the porch before I sit down and eat lunch. It might be hard to make out, but there’s a dark blob in the corner–that’s my cat eating a spiderweb right off the brick wall. It grosses me out.

This is kind of a funny story. My sister-in-law’s family got a new kitten several months ago and took her to get spayed. The vet said she was still too young, and to come back in one month. In the meantime, kitty got outside one night and came back knocked up–Definitely a case of teen kitty pregnancy! Luckily they live on a farm and will be able to care for the four kittens, but this was kitty’s one and only litter.

This boy is my favorite–he is the biggest of the litter, but small enough to fit in my hand. He looks just like my cat Turbo–see the resemblance?

Made a big huge flower for a bridal shower present. Do you guys have the tradition where the bride keeps all the bows and makes a bouquet for her rehearsal the night before the wedding? A Princess Lasertron flower pin would be a great addition to that, wouldn’t it? Hmmmmm?

Tonight Dave and I went to see Transformers with a group of his old childhood buddies. I believe these guys were all neighbors at some point and I’ve heard some tales and legends that would be hard to top. The move was okay–it entertained me. I’m no movie critic, but I really can’t bear Megan Fox…

Constantly going in and out…thank Dave for this picture! It wins best outfit of the week.

Easily wrinkled dress by Little Yellow Button, shoes by Vivienne Westwood for Melissa, and bag by BCBG. And no other accessories–I can’t drag down a getup like that with too much chi-chi.
