I’ve been busy in the last week getting ready for Silver Bella, a hugely special and influential paper arts workshop hosted here in Omaha every year. For last year’s Silver Bella, I spent tons of time working on a huge Eloise-inspired booth with the help of my family. This year I don’t have anything so spectactular going on–I put most of my work into making some new super high-quality well-made products that I think everyone will like, which is exciting for me because usually I just make niche stuff. Tomorrow I’ll give a peek at some of those.

Last night we met a dozen or so friends at the Crescent Moon to celebrate my friend (and esteemed Barcamp Omaha sponsor) Gabe quitting his sucky old boring job. Our friend Rahul, who owns a concrete software company called Dispatch This, offered him a sweeter gig. Yet another example of the extremely open and supportive community in Omaha, and the unique crossing-over between the tech and creative industries here.

I”m getting creative with elastic-waist skirts since my tailored stuff isn’t fitting anymore.
Sweater: Monogram
Skirt: Forever 21
Tights: NoBo (I was so surprised!)
Jacket: Delias
Shoes: Eileen Fisher

I also wore a new ring that I won in a giveaway from Taza & Husband. It’s made from an old dog tag by Tinah Dee and it’s so special to me!
We get to go find out the baby’s gender in two weeks, and I think we have The Names picked out (it’s completely crazy to me that I get to NAME A HUMAN). I think when we know for sure, I want Tinah to make me a ring with the baby’s name on it.

A few days my mom and I took a trip to see Joi Mahon to work on the designs for the 2010 dress line and start choosing some fabrics. I even got to see a few samples!

The quality and innovation of this line is going to blow everyone away. Early next year I hope to have a website up for the line and until then I’m shopping it around the mainstream magazine circuit. For me, they are just the perfect dresses.
Oh! Dudes, I also got my sweet radical gigantic walk-in-closet (meaning the separate room off of our bedroom) finished. Wait till you see my shoe wall! And hat boxes! Racks of dresses organized by color! I am so proud of it and it makes getting dressed so fun.
So that was all over the place. Scatterbrained. Seems appropriate!

Can’t wait to see the closet – and the dress line of course!!!
how do you like the top of the tights? I just really hate when they are too tight – so I get excited when I find comfortable ones!

I too just left my sucky, boring (evil) job, and am so inspired by and excited for your friend!
My only sadness about getting married this past summer is that I discovered your bouquets too late, and that I can’t wear one of your dresses.
Those tights are fan-tas-tic! Love your style, as always.

1. What do you think Baby will be – a boy or a girl?
2. I am totally coveting your closet, and you haven’t even shared pictures. I rearranged my closet (and the one in the hallway) in order to fit all of the winter sweaters and coats I pulled down from the top shelf. I would DIE for a closet large enough to hold all of my wardrobe without having to shove out-of-season stuff away. Someday….
3. I am TOTALLY STOKED to see your dress line!! Like really, really stoked!!
