micki’s flowers

Posted on 11. Mar, 2010 by in bouquets

Micki is one of my rare local brides–I think I work with one local customer for every 75 national and international ones, and I love feeling like I have that hometown, local girl connection with them.

When Micki first contacted me, I was completely overbooked for her wedding month. But before I said no or suggested that she buy a kit instead, I just kept turning over in my mind the details she had told me about she and her fiance Jon’s big day. What made me say yes was her color palette–red-orange, burgundy, and gunmetal gray. How intriguing!

Micki sent me a package in the mail full of inspirational photos and materials and when she first described her color palette, I could see the potential but was having trouble making it work together. But when I received the pictures Micki had collected, it all came together!

The inspiration for the flower shape came from a photo of tightly bound ranunculuses sent by Micki.

The pin in the center of that flower belonged to Micki’s great grandmother. I love it when brides integrate pieces from the past like that.

Congratulations Micki and Jon!

I sell them! In the next six months I plan to develop a kit with instructions for this design but for now I just have the embroidered flower bouquet kit for sale.

These are gorgeous! These bouquets completely busted up my conception of felt and what it can be used to create. I’ll keep this in mind, and I’ll give you a call in a few years down the road when it comes time for me to get hitched ;-)

Those are BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE ranunculus–my wedding bouquet was all red ranunculus and I LOVED it. But this is even cooler–that color palette is so unique and so lovely.

How cool! Funny thing, my friend just told me ranunculuses were her favorite flower. We (my sister and I) had to google them to find out just what they were. When I saw your flowers, my mind immediately went to ranunculuses! Yum!
