Princess Lasertron is going to CAMP this summer! Would you like to come too?

Posted on 23. Mar, 2010 by in business, CAMP

Since last December my freelance and self-employed friends and I have been looking for a space where we can work, collaborate, and grow. A coworking space for independent creatives.

In January we found that perfect space–the Mastercraft Building in  downtown Omaha.

And today I signed the lease.

Princess Lasertron now has a downtown studio.

And I now manage a coworking space in Omaha.

My good friend Eric Downs of Downs Design has shared this dream with me and he is my first tenant at CAMP. We will be joining several other creative businesses in the building including What Cheer, Secret Penguin, and Minorwhite Studios

Isn’t the potential wonderful?

The next step for CAMP is defining and designing the brand and creating a website where you can all go to learn more about our exciting plans.

This summer, independent creatives and other freelancers will have a place to work on a project, meet clients, or just drop in for a day and feel the collaborative, casual vibe. Maybe you will walk in on a dress fitting, or a photo shoot, or to find Eric Downs rollerblading down the hallway. Maybe you’ll see baby Alice from time to time. This is such a special new beginning and I’d love to see you at CAMP this summer!

    Congratulations on your new space!
It has been lovely seeing you go after and make your dreams happen via what you’ve shared on your blog.
Picked up the latest issue of Brides and showed off your lovely work to many friends.
Also, this yellow/grey combo reminded me of you.
Hope you have a fabulous day. =)

I think that is a really awesome idea. There are tons of new parents in the building and itd be fun to have some kind of kids day every few months.

That’s fantastic. It makes me want to run away and join you! Omaha is a bit of a trip from NYC, but maybe you could do a long weekend workshop (like a mini silverbella class, but we all do Princess Lasertron kits) and I would join that in a heartbeat!

I totally understand how it can seem far away, but it does creep up on you. I think one of the most important lessons for any small business owner/entrepreneur is not to grow too fast, to make sure that your business expansion matches the rate of your revenue growth. It’s good to start small! And it’s okay to stay small!
