Now I totally need crocuses- they feel so very spring-y. Someone remind me to plant these in the fall.

I love crocuses. They usually come up earlier in my part of the country, around late February to early March. Mine are already gone, but seeing your photos makes me smile!
Mr. Lasertron: You can mow over them after the flowers are gone. A lot of landscapers/ gardeners throw down crocus bulbs underneath sod or grass seed. When the flower goes away, the crocuses will just look like taller tufts of grass.
If you want, you can dig up the bulbs and separate them to create more crocus clusters. The bulbs are really cheap, though, and you can plant the bulbs around mid-October. Maybe earlier in Omaha- check your farmer’s almanac.

I love these photos! I don’t know what type they are, but I have the exact same flowers in my yard and they always bloom this time of year. The woman who owned my home before me planted them. I don’t tend to them one bit, yet they still pop up and say “Howdy, Wendy!” every spring. It puts the biggest smile on my face

they are happy little crocuses!
I love how they bloom randomly, like, in the middle of an entire yard.
