our easter baskets

My mom is one of those women who I will feel lucky to grow up to become. I’m slowly realizing that she was right about everything and I already catch myself using lots of her mom-isms:

Do you think I just fell off the turnip truck?
Oh, were you just waiting for the laundry fairy to pick this up?
Is that how ladies/gentlemen behave?
(I say that a lot to my speech kids.)

Another way I hope to emulate my mother is in the way she turns every holiday into a HUGE deal. Every red-letter day, however obscure, was celebrated from morning to night with tons of fanfare. For example, she always put a lot of thought and creativity into our Easter baskets. Here are a few ideas you can take from the baskets I put together for me, Mr. Lasertron, and baby Alice:

1. Paul and Joe lipstick in Candy, 2. Liberty of London for Target stick umbrella, 3. Lindt milk chocolate carrots, 4. Chenille chicks 5. Vintage locker basket, 6. Darling bow jelly flats, 7. OPI nail polish in Lucky Lucky Lavender

1. One Magic Square: The easy, organic way to grow your own food on a 3-foot square, 2. Alessi Girontondo keychain, 3. Pruning shears, 4. Divine Chocolate mini eggs, 5. Daroga trail shoes, 6. Herb Growing Taterpot, 7. Garden recycling bag, 8. Garden trowel

1. Spring Chicken onesie by Nina and Tom, 2. Plush bunny, 3. Best Bunnies washcloths, 4. Peter Rabbit snuggle book, 5. Yellow mary janes by See Kai Run, 6. Polka dot romper, 7. Shinzi Katoh tote bag

Polka dot romper! That alone makes me want a girl-baby. :)

I bought really nice white wicker basket s for each one of my kids and every year we put out the same basket for the Easter Bunny to fill, that way I don’t have to buy a new one every year, just hang them from the rafters in the basement holding the plastic eggs ready for the next year to come!
Love your basket ideas and LOVE your mom!!!!
Also congrats on the runway show, your designs are fabulous!!!!
