today’s outfit and venturing out

Sitting on the couch feeding Alice for like every 25 seconds for the last few days made me decide that it’s time to get a laptop. If you’re one of the people who are waiting for an e-mail from me, you probably agree.
Dave and I packed up a little bag and took Alice to the store and looked over some options. I ended up with a slick little HP–I admit I chose it for looks but it got good reviews. I will be able to get more work done with an infant now, and I wanted a laptop for CAMP anyway–it’ll be nice to have when I start working away from home.
I love this dress and it’s kind of the only thing that fits me, so don’t get too excited about new outfits. Bummer that I cant nurse in it!

Alice was so good at the store! I held her in a wrap and she never fussed. It seems like she is turning out to be nocturnal like her mama. We’ll see how long that lasts–I don’t know her very well yet!

P.S. My sister, while nursing, also watched tv with the volume turned off but captions turned on (otherwise, the baby would get distracted by the noise on tv), and she read. Of course, you can do both of those on your new laptop! ;>

Laptops are so nice to have. I used to have a desktop, and it was great, but having a laptop opens you up to working from any location you want! Good for you
On another note: I hope your mama enjoyed her trip to MN. I’m dying to see what goodies she picked up at my favorite places. If you’re ever out here, let me know, and we’ll get tea!

Around here all you see are young girls (and older actually) wandering around with babies and wearing their pyjamas out. It’s a thing apparently to wear scruffy pyjamas and ugg boots to the shops. Seeing you in that dress with baby is so refreshing!

You two look adorable. You hardly look like you just gave birth a week ago!
As for Alice’ sleeping habits, both of my boys (when they were babies) had the same awake habits that I had while pregnant with them. It was actually pretty neato to me. I hope Alice maintains the sleep schedule that makes work/life a little easier for you!
