change of plans due to oil spill–bridget’s flowers

I first heard from Bridget over a year ago to create a bouquet for her wedding this Summer. I was working through my May and June orders when I received an e-mail from her. As a Florida Keys resident, she and her fiance decided to move up their wedding date because of concerns about the huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. That kind of made me think about other events and weddings and celebrations happening in the gulf area–what a nightmare for everyone. And good for Bridget for making the best of it.

Bridget sent me several boxes of these super-blingy brooches to integrate into her bouquet. When I first received them I thought their size might seem out-of-proportion with the rest of the flowers, but I love how it ended up coming together.

I also stemmed the brooches so they can be removed and worn later, then replaced, if she wants.

Their wedding is tomorrow, so send them your best beautiful day vibes.

    Those brooches look really nice :) On a random note, I am seeing your entire website now for the first time. On my macbook it cuts off the sides. I loved it before, but I love it even more now!
