a silent auction for avery latham and other upcoming omaha events

Ms. Jessica Latham, who owned and ran Bellwether Boutique clothing store in the Old Market, sadly passed just a few weeks ago leaving her 4 year old daughter Avery. In recent weeks, Jessica’s friends and colleagues have organized a fashion show that is sure to be a touching celebration of Jessica’s life and little Avery’s bright future. There will be a silent auction including art and fashion pieces donated by local artists, and baked goods for sale donated by Sinful Delectables.

Up on the auction block will be one of my pieces from this year’s dress line–I’m not sure which one to donate yet, but it’ll be one of these. Come make a bid, take home a gorgeous custom dress made in your size, and leave with warmth in your heart knowing that your money is going to a great cause.
All proceeds of this event go to Avery’s college fund and it will be held on Jessica’s birthday–this Sunday, October 24th, at Nomad Lounge. Admission is free, and we just ask for donations for little Avery. More information about featured artists and the event in general can be found here.
Next, A Thousand Clowns is opening this weekend at the Omaha Community Playhouse. I can’t wait to see this comedy–and I’m relieved that it has nothing to do with clowns, since I’m totally creeped out by them. I have really been loving the playhouse plays in the last few months and I encourage you to make a date and check it out!
Finally, I wanted to help spread the word about the Omaha Fashion Week buyers’ market coming up this Thursday at Nomad Lounge. It’s free, and it’s your chance to meet all of the OFW designers in person and get an up-close-and-personal look at their work. You can even place an order for a custom-made garment, purchase a unique piece, or find new pieces for your boutique. It’s open to the public.
I love Omaha! Hope to see you around!

Hi Megan! It was so nice to meet you last night at the buyer’s market! I loved seeing your dresses up-close. The flower embelishments are adorable and so colorful. Buy a dress from this girl!

I hope you love A Thousand Clowns! I have never seen a stage performance of it but the movie is absolutely wonderful.
