two-thousand-and-heaven: a new series of wool posie pins

Posted on 29. Dec, 2010 by in craft

Let me introduce you to this very special set of pins, all part of my new Two-Thousand-and-Heaven series!

Chalet Soiree pin; Cozy Night barrette; Cabin Crew posie pin

One day in late December I walked into a fantastic vintage fabric sale by chance–tweeds, houndstooths, thick woolly plaids, a metallic thread running through here and there. In a frenzy of inspiration, I bought yards and yards and piles and bags of this beautiful fabric, intent on creating amazing flowers out of them for you!

Bubbly posie pin; Confetti posie pin; Butter Cookie posie pin

The pins in this series are each centered with one of my most special, one-of-a-kind vintage buttons–the ones I have been saving in a box, separate from the plainer, simpler buttons. Wearing one of these pieces is truly a pleasure, and owning one is like having a piece of me.

I fell in love with your hand-stitched bouquets, but my mood changes like the weather and I just love these even more. Love the texture. Beautiful!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your work. I myself make hats and put vintage buttons all clumped together, similar to a brooch. I am using my grandmother’s old button stash and hate giving them away or selling them to someone who isn’t family. The point of me telling you all of this is to ask you where you get your buttons! I would love it if you could give me some suggestions. Thanks!

    These are just lovely!

I know that you’re ‘over’ Radvent now–can’t say that I blame you, it’s obvious how much time you poured into those posts. BUT, I just wanted to let you know that I finished. A few days late thanks to the chaos of the Holidays. I had a blast! So thanks, thanks for challenging yourself and your readers. I’m looking forward to going back and reading these posts in a year to see how things have changed.

Happy New Year to you and yours.
