Rock, shop, and laugh this Friday! Holiday Throwdown at The Slowdown and the Christmas Rumpus.

So you guys need to know about two awesome things going on this weekend in case you have a fabulous new outfit to go show off or want to be seen where all the cool kids are. I’ll be ★making an appearance★ at both of them (it’s more fun to say “making an appearance” than “going,” right?)

Laura Burhenn of The Mynabirds

First, the Slowdown Holiday Throwdown in North Downtown is a celebration of local art and music featuring the release of The Mynabirds’ new 7” record, “All I Want Is Truth (for Christmas).” It’ll also feature members of Bear Country, Conduits, Flowers Forever, Honeybee, Talking Mountain, and UUVVWWZ.

Local artists and designers will also be selling little holiday gifts! It’s a great way to meet some of the coolest local designers (I seriously am in awe of the talent of all of these ladies!), ditch the crowds and traffic, and buy local! I’ll be selling notebooks, some one-of-a-kind limited-run handmade jewelry, embroidered felt flower pins, and whatever else I decide to put together before the event. I also have new packaging that I can’t wait to show off! You will love taking home a pretty little box for me–I would have to buy one gift to give, and one for myself too! The other artists featured are amazing as well. They include…

I will also have special pricing for this event because I do want everyone to be able to walk away with a little piece of me to share with someone they love. Notebooks will be half-price, pins will be 30% off, and I’ll also have new smaller kits!

Finally, the Witching Hour Christmas Party is going on down the street from the Slowdown at Nomad Lounge, so you can hit both in the same night and stop somewhere between them in the Old Market for dinner! (Shopping, a show, and dinner…sounds like date night to me!) My amazing super-assistant Shannon is one of the organizers for the event and she has been getting me excited about it for months now.

‎”Santa has a brother, who was his -partner- in a way,
And they used to ride through the dark countries back in the day.
Santa in his sleigh, giving presents to the good.
His brother Krampus stalking naughty children, running though the wood.”

The Witching Hour is a local band of actors who do late-night experimental theater, and part of the Blue Barn theater downtown. The Christmas Rumpus is their annual pageant show of sorts, and I have never seen it but it promises to be full of comedy and debauchery. The theater has been honored with several local awards and it’s geared toward young adult audiences, a.k.a. it won’t be stuffy and boring. I can’t wait and I hope to see you there!

AND if they come to the rumpus, one of those AMAZING LASERTRON PINS and an ALSO AMAZING NOTEBOOK COVER are part of our ridiculously decadent raffle.
so you could, in theory, get a piece of lasertron festiveness for as little as -one dollar-
    because megan? she is GREAT.

(sorry for all the caps. i’m just very excited)
