Jen’s bridal bouquet

This is Jen’s playful and lighthearted bridal bouquet that was so fun to make. Let me tell you a little bit about the short history of the posie bouquet.

All wedding vendors/independent artists/custom designers face the harsh reality of having to turn customers away because they just don’t have the budget for our work. When I was selling only the bouquets with the heavy embroidery (and heavy labor), the price point was too high for too many brides that I really wanted to work with. I had enough customers, but it was painful to talk to a FABULOUS couple with amazingly creative ideas and then have to say no to them because of budget issues. In those cases I usually ended up making them flowers anyway and losing money. I was able to build great relationships that way, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to work with anyone anymore if I kept losing money.

So I spent weeks thinking on it and finally developed the posie bouquet which is a lower cost option. Having the posie bouquet has let me work with such a wonderfully wide range of customers and has served as its own inspiration for so many other new ideas from corsage cuff bracelets (which we’ll soon be uploading to the store!) to the new hydrangea bouquet we just did for Alex.

So we did play with some new creative ideas for Jen’s bouquet. Love the color palette of browns, greens, and blues. And we did these fun little round embroidered shapes on stems of button flowers to kind of add some “filler.” I also love the little embroidered brown leaves sprinkled throughout.

And a dapper boutonniere with a vintage leather button for the mister.

This is a beautiful bouquet. Here in the UK felt button bouquets are taking off big time – we love them. But I don’t think Kate Middleton will be carrying one at her wedding somehow!
