gemma’s flower girl wand
Posted on 20. May, 2011 by Princess Lasertron in bouquets
I’d never been asked to do a flower girl wand before Gemma asked me to put one together for her July wedding in Ireland. We used a dowel and thick wire to create the base and then just covered it with our embroidered flowers, vintage buttons, and antique jewelry findings like pearls and rhinestones. The finished wand is about two feet long.

We also did a few boutonnieres and corsages for her. For her bridal bouquet, Gemma ordered one of our felt flower bouquet kits so I can’t wait to see what she creates. It’s always exciting when I mail one of those out because people interpret the project so differently. Sometimes people mix in fresh flowers, or paper flowers, or make their own new kind of felt flower to add to the bunch…anyway I just like to see other people being proud of their work and creating something for their wedding day with their own hands.
See the rest of Gemma’s order on Flickr.
Congratulations Gemma and Duane!

Fabulous! I love the idea of flower wands and this done in a non-floral is spectacular. I love your dainty embroidery, Megan. You care and it really shows.
