for the men: princess lasertron’s best boutonnieres

Posted on 08. May, 2011 by in bouquets

Whether you call them boutonnieres or buttonholes, the flowers we make for grooms, groomsmen, ushers, and family members are just as integral to mens’ wedding formal wear as bouquets are to the brides and bridesmaids. I know that a bride will spend hours selecting flowers for her bouquet, but the boutonniere tends to become a throwaway accessory. But it doesn’t have to be! Here are our latest offerings and styles from our sweet little studio, in colors for summer:

1. Ruffled felt pin with vintage tweed button and hand-embroidered leaves; 2. Traditional button boutonniere with wool felt leaves; 3. Ruffled stemmed boutonniere with vintage silver button; 4. Small prize ribbon boutonniere; 5. Button boutonniere with vintage millinery berries and leaves; 6. Black tweed posie pin with vintage leather button; 7. Hand-embroidered felt flower pin; 8. Ruffled prize ribbon boutonniere with a wool felt leaf

I love fabric and paper flowers in boutonnieres because with mens’ accessories becoming more en vogue, it’s great for the guys to have a keepsake that will last and become part of their wardrobes for years to come. We make them ourselves with extra magic and care, but if you are more inclined to DIY, contact us and we can fabricate a kit for you!

We receive lots of photos of men wearing boutonnieres sold out of our shop about town and I love this trend. Men have so little to accessorize with to begin with so I am very in favor of a pop of color on the lapel.

So that is what’s new on our end.

ONE MORE very important note…today is Alice and my birthday! After 60 hours of labor she was born one year ago on the coolest day of the year (and it was mother’s day!). We had cake, ice cream, and champagne at the hospital. I can’t wait to share a lifetime of birthdays together. We are celebrating on the 15th with our friends and family–it will be an epic week of party planning posts!

  1. [...] In this video, I’m making the traditional-style bouts that I first designed in the very beginning of Princess Lasertron, and they’re still the best seller. I have several styles that I love making and you can browse through the styles in this post from last year! [...]

Happy Birthday to you both! I can’t wait to see Alice’s party plans! It is sure to be cute as ever. By the way—the two of you share a b-day with one of my most favorite gals—my Mom. We are actually going to party down tonight for her #66.
