1. Read this Father’s Day post on local web mag Esoteric Velvet featuring Mr. Lasertron and our daughter, as well as some of our other local dad pals. Photos by Daniel P. Muller.

2. Today is the last day to sign up for my first online class, the Felt Flower Fascinator headband hosted by Rick Rack! Judith Norman, the producer, came to CAMP on Saturday and we spent all day filming the class, eating snacks from my favorite local restaurants, and gabbing about the business. Judith was full of amazing advice and wisdom and I feel so motivated now to seize some new opportunities in business. I want to get that damn book deal. Here are a few photos from our filming day that Judy sent me:

When you sign up for the class, you get access to the supply list, a .pdf of instructions, an instructional video that you can watch over and over as much as you need to, and a two-hour live chat with me! You can also sign up and take the class from anywhere around the world, and it’s $35 USD. I will also be selling kits to accompany the class at $25 once it begins.

3. Congrats to Meaghan Wilken, winner of our giveaway last week from Smiling Knitting! If you want to purchase some slippers or Turkish towels from her shop, mention me and receive a 10% discount!

1. Read this feature about CAMP, my coworking space, on Silicon Prairie News. I got so emotional when I read the first two paragraphs that I had to go sit on my couch and reflect.
For the first six months, CAMP operated on this model but for Hunt something wasn’t working. The permanent desks were filling but they were not full and there were few drop-ins and fresh faces setting up camp.
“If no one is here,” Hunt concluded, “this isn’t a collaborative space.”
So, Hunt knocked out the punchcards, cut the drop-in rates and opened the doors for guests – those who pop in to work for a few minutes or buckle down for the day – all for free.
“This was controversial,” Hunt said. “The brand of CAMP and co-working altogether was at stake. There were fears this would devalue the service.”
Read this amazing article by recent journalism graduate Brittany Mascio to learn more about the philosophy behind CAMP, what I have learned in the past year, and how we came to our pricing strategy. It is so great.
2. Emma the Employee comes back from her trip to San Francisco. I can’t wait to see what she got and hear about everything that happened.
3. Be careful when you’re mowing! Look what I found nestled together in our yard! Each just a few inches long.

1. Our online class starts and kits are for sale to class participants.
2. Seeing the most fabulous blonde Gucci-wearing dentist at 3:30 and gossiping about everything I can with dental instruments in my mouth.
3. Buying the best shoes ever made and wearing bows on every article of clothing on my body. I’m living in a great little form-fitting black dress this summer, and I have all the accessories to turn it out.

06.23.11
1. Going to see my two male cousins who are playing the wicked step-sisters in Cinderella at the Elkhorn Community Theater. Dying.
06.24.11
1. Change your nail polish color.
2. Recycle the outdated notes and pieces of paper around your desk.
3. Tell yourself, “I just can’t stand how gorgeous I am.”
06.25.11
1. I’m heading to my cousin Ashley’s baby shower–so excited for another little one in the family! What is your go-to baby shower gift? I love the Puj Tub and OXO Candela Lights.
2. Check out the Building Bemis dedication and 30th anniversary celebration. Can’t wait to meet the new artists in residence and see their amazing work.
3. Go to the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha for the opening of Etienne Delessert’s temporary exhibit titled “Why Grow Up?” Considered one of the fathers of modern picture books, Delessert’s work features 100 works of art from his best-selling books.

4. Decompressing with my crew…I need them like I need my parents, my husband, my daughter, my workers, and you–everyone plays a part in my sanity. Here with Steve Gordon of RDQLUS and Eric Downs of Downs Design. Rockin the crazy eyes.
