janice’s flowers
Posted on 21. May, 2012 by Princess Lasertron.
Lately my favorite kinds of bouquets to make are ones like Janice’s, with an eclectic mix of colors and types of flowers. Janice is a great example of that style that I love so much right now. She sent me a color palette, assured me that she would love whatever I made, and told me one word: “eclectic.” I went with it and I’m glad that she was happy with the results!

As I arrange each bouquet after I finish the flowers, I tend to arrange them very tightly, kinda crammed in together. Once the bride receives the flowers, she can “fluff” it out as much as she wants and add some more volume to the bouquet, or leave it more densely packed as I arranged it.
Right now I’m working on a bouquet more like the ones I’ve done in the past–all one type of flower, all the same length, uniform stitching on the leaves–and one more like Janice’s except even a little bit more wild in the heights and fullness of the whole bouquet. Going back and forth between each style is fun and I love the creative challenge.

photos from claire and andy’s wedding

I just wanted to share a few of these professional pictures from Claire and Andy’s Las Vegas wedding. Claire and Andy are an English couple who flew to Sin City with eleven of their friends last October for a chill, laid-back wedding with little pomp and circumstance. As Claire put it, it was “a day for celebration and giggles.” I love these photos from their sweet little ceremony.
You can see the original post about their flowers here.

buttons and bees: flowers for sammi and james’s wedding
Posted on 04. May, 2012 by Princess Lasertron.
Sammi and James are celebrating their marriage in Illinois this August and I created a bouquet and boutonniere for them that will last for years as a reminder of their special day. I used hand-dyed wool felt in shades of yellow and cream, vintage buttons, and I also covered some buttons with vintage fabric that I chose inspired by the casual country feel of their wedding. In Sammi’s words…
We are getting married with an antique barn as the backdrop (weather permitting). Our guests will be seated upon hay bales covered with picnic blankets and will be provided a program that doubles as a fan. Bridesmaids will be dressed in gray dresses with yellow shoes and jewelry, carrying vintage picnic baskets. My fiance will be wearing a black tux. I’m wearing a simple and pretty ivory dress with my cowgirl boots. Reception to follow inside a barn, vintage chandeliers, mason jars full of flowers, candles and pretty white lights.
Needless to say, I can’t wait to see the pictures! In the meantime, here are some shots of her bouquet.

wendy’s flowers
Posted on 01. May, 2012 by Princess Lasertron.
For Wendy and Bill’s wedding, I created flowers and accessories that were colorful and eclectic but united by the intricacy in the stitching, and lots of little pearl, crystal, and dot details. I stitched most of this while watching episodes of Shark Tank on Hulu, so I’m sure I will remember it very fondly after it’s shipped off!

hannah’s flowers: crystals, polka dots, and a color explosion!
Posted on 26. Apr, 2012 by Princess Lasertron.
This is a bouquet I made for Hannah and Joel’s wedding this August in Ballymena, Ireland. We’ve communicated over nearly a year sharing Pinterest boards, fabric swatches, and lots of ideas, and I’ve got to say hers is one of the more embellished and colorful bouquets I’ve done. It’s like an explosion of candy buttons and happy energy for their casual handmade Irish wedding!

*note: I edited these photos with Flickr’s new in-app editor, Aviary, after the closure of Picnik (boo!). Still trying to figure out what new program I want to use…what do you like?
