Thank you so much everyone for your comments in my last post about living with bipolar. I think that post generated more discussion than any other one I’ve ever done. I’m glad that I was able to reach out to some of you, and I am so appreciative that you have reached out and touched me.

video tutorial: valentine’s day folder craft project and a GIVEAWAY!

Hey babes and dudes! Ready for a Valentine’s Day project and giveaway?

I made a video tutorial showing how to make an easy folder to store all of your valentines in! There are lots of variations on the basic project I will show you which I outline in the video. I think these folders will make great gifts for your friends, or you can sit down with your kids and make a bunch of little ones for their classmates! Plus there is a bonus appearance from my dog, Scout.

If you like this project, leave a comment and give me some feedback, and if you want to try it out, I have re-written the list of materials you need below. So many of us have these materials around the house already and it’s such a fun easy project!

Materials Needed:
…three 10×6” pieces of decorative paper or cardstock (two-sided is best)
…five 10×3” pieces of decorative paper (one-sided is fine)
…Zip Dry paper glue from Beacon Adhesives (you can get this at most craft stores)
…your own favorite embellishments and decorative elements (I used Japanese masking tapes, butcher’s twine, and markers for most of mine)
…a hole punch and some twine OR a sewing machine (to bind the folder)

I put together a sweet little package of everything you need to make the Valentine’s Day folder, including a brand new bottle Zip Dry. I really do love this glue and it’s all I’ve been using for paper for about four years.

I’m also going to throw in a few extra special fun destash-y surprises for the winner.

Jo Packham, editor-in-chief of Where Women Create wrote a really touching and sweet blog post about when we first met and worked together last Spring. Comment on Jo’s post to be entered to win a really sweet felt pencil pouch and a matching flower pin. You could use the pouch for lots of things–pens, brushes, business cards, coupons…whatever works for you, really.  I’m sure I will throw in a few other goodies with that package as well.

• Professor Lasertron and I have had Lady Gaga’s video for her new song Bad Romance on repeat for the last week…this might just be the lady I sell my soul to be for a day. That voice! Those clothes! She is like, trolling the entire world and so getting away with it. My dream job.

• I’m infatuated with this dress. Should I just buy it for next year? Sigh.

• After I saw this tiny yellow coat, I am hoping for a girl. (I go back and forth all the time depending on what clothes I find…haha!)

Hey readers!! So, finally, this is it–the new website design that DownsDesign has been working on for the last few months and I am SO EXCITED to enter this new chapter for Princess Lasertron! The new website couldn’t have come at a better time.

This has been a huge learning experience for me and I am already getting used to the pretty new colors and features and layout. I encourage you to browse through the website and check out some of the new pages and features like videos, press kits, and a special form for bridal inquiries! Over the next few weeks, we will still be upgrading and tweaking a few more things too like the categories and a few other things.

We have done our best to comb over the website for bugs and problems, but if you find an issue please fill out a bug report so that we can fix it asap.

As if dropping this grade-a top-rate bad-ass new web design wasn’t enough of a celebration, I’m also having a giveaway for you! I took inspiration from Naomi of the Rockstar Diaries (adorable!) and I put together a package of my favorite things.
