day greater than seven of finally loving myself

Before bed every night, I make Professor Lasertron’s lunch for the next day. He rides his bike to work at the hospital and works overtime almost every day. Very early to bed, early to rise. So I like to help him out.
Tonight I made Penne Vodka from the Veganomicon, the new vegan cookbook from Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero. I have all of their cookbooks and I think they are awesome chefs. To be a good VEGAN chef, I think must have to understand much more about food chemistry than an average chef.
Here is the recipe, copied from Google book search, if you’d like to try it!

Three times this week I have made Cream Puff Squares, that I first saw posted on Meg Duerksen’s blog. Her blog is one of my new favorites.
They were a hit at my grandpa’s big Father’s Day party. I made a batch for our bi-weekly Dungeons and Dragons campaign (We left this session with such a cliffhanger. What will happen to the mayor’s daughter who was carried away by bats?!?!? ?!??)
Then tonight was my best friend Kristal’s bachelorette party, so I made a pan of Cream Puff Squares for her party, too. Everyone started out taking a small piece but it’s really hard not to eat a lot of it (be warned!). So delicious. By the way, Kristal is the girl in the green dress from my wedding party pictures. Here she is with her honey. You two are next!!

day 1 of finally loving myself

Today I woke up early….ish.
Early enough to watch Martha at 1 while I worked on some orders.
During the celebrity gossip show that’s between Martha and Dr. Phil I got dressed and did my hair and cleaned the bathroom.
Then I went to go pick Dave up from work to go to my brother’s Eagle ceremony.
It was really fabulous. The crew members of the USS Nebraska were there, and they presented Matt with a special secret Navy coin medallion thing, and an American flag that was flown in his honor while they were at sea last year.
The mayor presented Matt with the key to the city. (I don’t even have one of those…) I can post photos of all of this tomorrow when my mom sends me the photos. (I cant find my camera ANYWHERE.)
All of our friends and family and all the Boy Scouts were there. I met one man whose wife was the former owner of a popular local toy store that really sold the same types of high quality, heirloom toys that I want to get into.
Apparently she has been looking for a partner. We had a VERY good conversation and I am going to meet with them soon for wine and talks…hopefully good talks.
Tomorrow is when I go to the SCORE Nebraska office to talk to a small business counselor about my toy store.
Isn’t everything just happening.
….
Tonight I shined my sink.
It looked way worse before. Like, unexplainable black marks and yellow stains. I think I will feel better every morning walking downstairs to see….a shiny sink.
And I made lunch for my favorite boy.

Food pictures always look kinda gross to me. Like, wow, isn’t that beige?
I think it will taste okay though. ..crispy tofu sauteed with yellow pepper and asparagus. and then mixed with brownnnnnnnnnn pasta. With browwnnnnnnnnnnn bread. And apples and peanut butter.
He is the good eater in the family.
