new favorites for the wardrobe rack
Posted on 22. May, 2012 by Princess Lasertron.
I got a new, silver, sturdy clothing rack for our bedroom that Dave and I share to store our clothes for each season. About every eight weeks, we go into our big closet and pick new things to put on the rack for rotation. It helps me find things that go together to create easy outfits, but keeps me from getting bored.
Today I ironed these bad girls out and added them to the collection. I got them from Shareen Vintage in NYC, a diamond of a store that Gala Darling took Kat and I to a few weeks ago when we were in town. The price was right, but the amazing employees made it unforgettable. I can’t wait to take my partner Sarah there when we go for market this Fall!
1: Striped cotton dress with pockets and button back. I love the neckline and red lining on this, and the length is perfect.

2: Yellow cotton tennis romper with pockets. It looks like a shift dress, but there are shorts under there! I love the buttons down the front, too.

summer 2012 wardrobe

Putting together wardrobe posts is my favorite part of every new season. It’s fun to show you guys what I’m going to wear all summer, but it’s mostly just to help me inventory what I have and how I can put it all together in new ways.
Here are some of my favorite pieces from my closet that I’m adding to my rack of basics (grey t-shirt, black pencil skirt, etc.) to create amazing new looks for the new season:
Tomorrow I’ll clean my closet out and add all this stuff to the rack of clothes in my bedroom! What colors and patterns are you excited to debut in the coming months?

today’s outfit

Today we have our first model fittings for the Omaha Fashion Week spring show which is next week. I haven’t heard back from any of my models who are supposed to come in yet so I’m not sure if anyone is even coming. Working with models can drive me crazy sometimes.
Today we finished a pencil skirt, a pair of shorts with a pretty coral print, and a cape! We’re doing a small five-look collection this season and we’re really just having fun with it. Making pieces we would want to wear. Diving in and tackling it.

Shirt: Old Navy (SO old…I wore this in college)
Skirt: Tagless, I got it at Scout this week!
Tights: K-Mart
Shoes: Anne Klein

today’s outfit: black and yellow

Today was full of meetings and fun work at CAMP with all of my coworkers. I’m loving my job. It’s a busy time and our new brides are all so inspiring and cool. We’re working on a big rainbow bouquet right now, but working on the color balance so it reads very spring-y and bright.
Alice is so fun to have at CAMP now. She takes a nap for a few hours every day. She draws on the markerboard. She eats a snack. She helps me sort buttons by color–she says “Wed, gween, lah-low, boo, peenk, pohpoh…”
So here’s what I wore to meetings today. This is how I do power-lady.

And Alice slept on my shoulder like a sack of potatoes while I answered e-mail all afternoon.

Dress: Alyx from JC Penney

today’s outfit: I got a perm
Posted on 06. Feb, 2012 by Princess Lasertron.
I have very, very straight hair.
I’ve had a bob for my whole life.
My Grandma gave me this haircut on my front stoop.
And I’ve had it ever since.
So I decided to make a little change and have some fun–no color, nothing crazy, just a fun little process called a Re4mer Perm!

The best hairdresser in the world Rebecca Forsyth gave me this process at Bungalow//8 Hairdressing, a lovely salon that has been great to me over the past year. I loved sitting under the hood dryin my hair, flippin through magazines, (I always wanted to sit under one of those!) and the results were just awesome.
So this is my hair now. If I wake up and I haven’t showered and do nothing to it (like I did today), it looks full of body and movement–a style I would have spent half an hour doing before. If I take a shower and scrunch in some curl cream, I have lovely waves. Deep side-parts and hair combs are my new thing.

I’m contemplating trying something even curlier later this year. I’m so addicted to curls now! Big hair is the big thing.
