I made a video tutorial showing how to make an easy folder to store all of your valentines in! There are lots of variations on the basic project I will show you which I outline in the video. I think these folders will make great gifts for your friends, or you can sit down with your kids and make a bunch of little ones for their classmates! Plus there is a bonus appearance from my dog, Scout.

Materials Needed:
…three 10×6” pieces of decorative paper or cardstock (two-sided is best)
…five 10×3” pieces of decorative paper (one-sided is fine)
…Zip Dry paper glue from Beacon Adhesives (you can get this at most craft stores)
…your own favorite embellishments and decorative elements (I used Japanese masking tapes, butcher’s twine, and markers for most of mine)
…a hole punch and some twine OR a sewing machine (to bind the folder)

I put together a sweet little package of everything you need to make the Valentine’s Day folder, including a brand new bottle Zip Dry. I really do love this glue and it’s all I’ve been using for paper for about four years.

I’m also going to throw in a few extra special fun destash-y surprises for the winner.

I made a video tutorial today showing how to make an easy no-sew notebook cover. It’s a lot like the notebook covers I have been making lately, except there is no sewing and no stress (and you get the same awesome results)! Plus there is a bonus appearance from my cat, Turbo.

Materials Needed
…a notebook or planner to be covered (I used a Moleskine pocket notebook)
…Felt or other heavy fabric to cover the book. You’ll need an amount of fabric that is twice the area of the book cover. (9×12 pieces from craft stores work well for small books, but for larger ones I recommend buying yardage from Wool Felt Central.)
…A rotary cutter and ruler
…Fabri-Tac glue from Beacon Adhesives (you can get this in most craft stores, even Wal-Mart!)
…Your own trims and embellishments (optional)

I actually have a bottle of Fabri-Tac glue to give away to one lucky reader. I really do love this stuff, and I’ve been using it exclusively for about five years. I use it in all of my bouquets and it is perfect for quick fixes–I use it like I would a glue gun. Yup. I love it. You will too.

Teal, light pink, and certain shades of blue and green are highly sought-after colors by my clients, and the high demand comes with a high price. To avoid passing the cost on to my customers, sometimes I carefully paint plain buttons to match the customer’s color palette, and when done right, no one can tell the difference. In this video I show you how to save money by painting your own plain, boring buttons to achieve the same effect!
