Alice Elfie’s Day Off
December 16th, 2014
Coconut oatmeal scrub (we used steel cut oats and added more brown sugar)
Tea tree and mint foot scrub (Epsom salts, tea tree oil, peppermint oil, coconut oil)
Peppermint bath bombs (Alice’s long-time favorite treat in the tub. Her friends from preschool will love these.)
Four oil and acrylic paintings
We wrapped the little jars in old Martha Stewart cupcake packaging from Halloween a few years ago. They’re just simple black tuck-top boxes with a window on top. I always get post-seasonal craft supplies on clearance, especially when they’re just a simple solid color and could easily be used year-round. We wrapped each jar in bright magazine pages, which show through the box window and add a little bit of festivity to the simple black box!
We also addressed and mailed all of our holiday cards. It’s our first year doing a card, and I’m glad to be jumping on the bandwagon of middle america’s most treasured holiday tradition. We’ve still never taken any professional photos–it’s just an Instagram picture–but I think the cards turned out cute. We signed and wrote a note on each card with some fun metallic pens. Alice has a self-inking address stamp from her stationery kit, and it was perfect for mailing out 100 cards quick.
Alice also began four paintings today. Five if you count the one on her shirt.
“I need to loosen this nut to get my training wheels off.”
With pliers from her toy tool set.
I suggested we wait for dad to help so we can ride outside.
Wrapping gifts for her stuffed animals. I don’t know what’s in them.
Back at it tomorrow!
